Valentine’s Wreath
Art F200X

I made this Valentine’s Wreath from the rim of a plastic Hills Bros. Coffee can cover, a purple Christmas bow, a pink Christmas bow, the red part of a plastic bread bag, white yarn, and a short piece of fishing line to hold the red heart in the middle of the Valentine’s Wreath.
The love in Valentine’s Day is shown through your emotions, body language, and for the love for your significant other, that is instilled inside.
The frame of the wreath is lined with the purple Christmas bow, the wreath has the red plastic bread bag tied to create red bows, pink Christmas bows tied and cut into fourths to look like curly ribbons, white yarn balls to make white outbursts, and the red heart in the middle for “Love inside of you” for a Valentine’s Day Wreath.
The shape of the frame is round and with the colors added, it makes the art piece more intriguing for Valentine’s Day, the purple and pink Christmas bows are smooth in texture, but the pink bows have stiff curls as texture and patterns and/or shapes, the red plastic bread bag bow ties have wrinkles on them, so the surface is not really smooth-lined, the white yarn outbursts have a texture of spiral looking soft braids as a pattern and also a pattern of lines like fireworks outbursts, the shape of the red heart is heart-shaped and the texture of the red heart is smooth, as was the cover of the Hills Bros. coffee container. The light and the value of the light shows a shadow on the red heart, from the energy efficient light bulb that is on the light fixture. The tone of the colors are light, medium, and dark on the art piece, and the tone of them are pretty for Valentine’s Day. The background of the art piece is the wall space which is textured as little white bubbles to go along with the white color for contrast.

I really enjoy the fact you discussed a piece of your own art. Not only is it personal, by no one knows the design elements and the thought that directly went into making the piece like you. I enjoy the contrasting textures and colors you used to make it. I think the contrasting textures is made even more apparent by the diverse materials used. You mention the lighting on the piece. I enjoy that the heart is somewhat shaded. It creates an atmosphere of it being reserved and internal.
